Prof Piotr Szymczak

/ Theoretical Physics /

Piotr Szymczak received his PhD degree in physics from the University of Warsaw (Poland) in 2001. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Florida (USA) before joining University of Warsaw as a faculty. He now heads the Department of Complex Systems Modeling at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw. He was a visiting professor at several research institutions, including the Newton Institute in Cambridge, UK, Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (France) and Sorbonne University in Paris. Research within his group focuses on growth processes, emergence of shapes and patterns in natural systems as well as dynamics of soft and living matter.

Prof Michał Zegrodnik

/ Theoretical Physics /

Michał Zegrodnik is currently the head of the Theory of Quantum Systems group at Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology, AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland. His research interests are concentrated around unconventional states of matter in correlated electron systems. He is mostly interested in various forms of superconductivity in materials like copper-based high-temperature superconductors, magic angle twisted bilayer graphene, iron-pnictides as well as oxide interfaces.

PhD Mateusz Wilinski

/ Complex Systems /

Mateusz is a physicist and a mathematician by training, interested in belief propagation methods applied to learning and inference problems on networks, with applications to many different scientific fields. He got his PhD in Physics from the University of Warsaw and later worked as a researcher at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. Currently, he holds an Information Science & Technology (ISTI) Postdoctoral Fellowship at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

PhD Tomasz Raducha

/ Complex Systems /

Tomasz Raducha is a postoctoral researcher at the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems in Spain investigating complex adaptive systems. He obtained a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Warsaw in Poland. Currently, he is a member of the CSS Council, steering committee of the WWCS, and a former member of the advisory board of the yrCSS.
